Pre-workout Hunger Pangs Fixed!

Workout shorts and T-shirt on for the gym? Check. Playlist of your favorite workout songs? Check. Bottle of water to quench your thirst? Check. Workout pants for the run? Check. A pre-workout snack? No? Most of the time, we tend to do everything correctly when it comes to an intense workout, but we usually forget to have an energy boosting snack to fuel our body. So, in today’s post, we’ll help fix those pre-workout hunger pangs with some energy boosting foods which are both delicious and also prepare you for your exercise.

1) Go Green With a Green Smoothie

How about a healthy and refreshing drink before your gym? A smoothie made of avocado, spinach, cucumber, some mint leaves with a dash of lemon on top is best if you want an all-organic snack before sweating it out. Whip all of the above fresh ingredients in a mixer right before consuming it, and you are all set to have a happy session at the gym.

2) An Egg-cellent Salad, Maybe?

A yummy and protein-filled snack, egg salad is one of the best pre-work snacks for you. Made with boiled egg whites and your choice of vegetables like carrots, beetroots, and cucumber, this snack can give you energy for several hours. Just cut some boiled eggs, mix in a teaspoon of mayo or greek yoghurt, season it with salt, pepper and red chilli powder, and add veggies to it, and you are good to go!

3) This One Has Chocolate In It!

To keep you full for long, have a bowl of oats along with a little bit of sweetness in it. Add some dark chocolate to oats and some fruits like strawberries, apple slices, or bananas to it and you have yourself a delicious and healthy pre-workout supplement.

4) Peanut Butter Smoothie

Bananas are high in potassium and a lot of people consume these easily-available fruits before their workout. But, if you want to add some protein to it and make a lip-smacking smoothie out of it, then you should try the banana and peanut butter smoothie. Add one ripe banana, a teaspoon of unsweetened peanut butter and some skimmed milk or soy milk to a mixer and whip it to make a thick and delectable smoothie.

A good pre-workout nutrition goes a long way toward helping your body and gives it the kick of energy that it needs. And if you are hitting the gym after a hard day at work, then you should definitely try these snacks before your workout.
