10 Ways to boost your metabolism

I bet you have often heard trainers at your gym mention that you have a slow or a fast metabolic rate. What does this mean? What is metabolism and is it linked to weight? How can we boost it?

 Simply put metabolism is nothing but the body's ability to convert what we eat and drink into energy. It is a series of physical and chemical processes that occur in the body which keep us functioning normally in order to stay alive.

 The metabolic rate, on the other hand, is nothing but a measure of how many calories you burn while you're doing nothing. Different factors influence your metabolic rate. Typically, genetic makeup, age, sex, diet, growth, temperature, medications etc are just some factors that can determine your BMR(Basal Metabolic Rate)

 You can calculate your BMR (online calculators) and use it to determine the number of calories you need. So, if you are looking to lose fat, eat fewer calories than your body needs to function!

  • Eat breakfast.

  • Work on building those muscles
